Gewira Shipping Agency Sdn Bhd established on 20th November 1985 to provide shipping (ship husbanding and vessel agency related services) and forwarding (custom agents/custom related agency services) at Pasir Gudang Port, Johor, Malaysia. Started small from a rented office at The Welfare Building, Johor Port before moving out to our own building at Taman Rinting, Masai in 1995. The same year, our custom license was extended to Lumut, Perak. After going through much challenges and with strong support from our customers' and our perseverance to serve, Lumut office was officially open on 5th December 1999.
To move beyond borders and see things from the customer perspective view and to open our mind to broader experience and knowledge, we have liaison office in Port Kelang and Kuantan to service our customer needs.
We are passionate about our works, our services and the progress of the company stemmed from the flexible and consistency standard of our services and costs level but our commitment to our customer extend beyond merely providing service, we always ensure there is subsequent and continuous follow-up. To meet the competitiveness and the diversity of the global shipping industry, we learn to understand and perceptible to the environment, to listen to the needs and requirement of the principal/clients and be prepared to change, perceptible to the environment and responsive to the changing needs.

The company handled bulk and break-bulk cargo at Pasir Gudang and Lumut. At Tanjung Langsat Port, handled mostly conventional break-bulk cargo (steel cargo and project cargo) and at Pasir Gudang Port (Johor Port), handled bulk (bentonite, fuller earths lumps, bauxite, alumina hydroxide, etc) and break-bulk cargoes (steel cargo, project cargo and bagged cargo shipment) as well containers shipment. We also clear in and out vessel for dry docking at Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE). At Lumut, we have established a prominent reputation in handling and loading of limestone/calcite chips in bulk, hydrated lime/quick lime in jumbo bag, silica sand and others bulk and general cargo through Lumut Port. Our good networking with the respective port authorities have help us to provide our utmost efforts in achieving smooth cargo loading and/or discharging operation for quick despatch.
From small beginnings, Gewira Shipping have grown and respected in the shipping community. Together with the Company is a team of dedicated staffs that have stay with us for a long time weathering through good and difficult times.
